Method 1 — String or Paper

Use a strip of paper or a piece of thread

  1. 1 Cut a thin strip of paper or use a piece of non-stretchy string or thread.
  2. 2 Wrap it around the finger where you'll wear the ring — not too tight, not too loose.
  3. 3 Mark the point where it overlaps with a pen or your fingernail.
  4. 4 Lay it flat against a ruler and measure the length in millimetres — this is your circumference.
  5. 5 Divide that number by 3.14 to get your inner diameter, then match it to the chart above.
💡 Pro tip: Measure at the end of the day when fingers are slightly larger. Avoid measuring in cold weather — fingers shrink when cold!

Method 2 — Existing Ring

Use a ring that already fits well

  1. 1 Take an existing ring that fits the correct finger well.
  2. 2 Place it flat on a ruler or use a calliper if available.
  3. 3 Measure the inner diameter — across the inside of the ring in millimetres.
  4. 4 Match that measurement to the diameter column in the chart above.
💡 Between two sizes? Always go for the larger one — it's much easier to add a ring adjuster than to stretch a ring!
